The main activities of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division are electrical energy delivery and the connection of new consumers to the electric distribution networks of the division. The division performs electrical energy delivery over 0,4-110 kV on the territory of the Kursk region in the area of 29,8 thousand square kilometers with a population of 1 155,4 thousand people.

The main activities of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division are electrical energy delivery and the connection of new consumers to the electric distribution networks of the division. The division performs electrical energy delivery over 0.4-110 kV on the territory of the Kursk region in the area of 29,8 thousand square kilometres with a population of 1 155,4 thousand people.

From the first of February 2013 in accordance with the order of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation of January 24, # 25 functions of a supplier of last resort in the Kursk region were assigned to IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division. Since then the branch also performs the whole range of activities on electricity retail to companies, organizations and population in the region.

The development of large power industry in the Kursk region was started in 1955, when the first turbine with the capacity of 25 MW was put into operation in Kursk. After the incorporation in May 1958 by order of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of District Energy Agency «Kurskenergo» the development of power industry in the Kursk region went in accordance with a single plan, which was based on the development plan of the electric grid and district heating layout of the region. In subsequent years, the Kursk power system underwent several procedural and institutional changes: District Energy Agency «Kurskenergo», Production Association for Power and Electrification «Kurskenergo», OJSC «Kurskenergo.» In the course of the sector reforming OJSC «Kurskenergo» was reorganized. In 2005 OJSC «Kursk Generation Company», OJSC «Kurskenergosbyt», OJSC «Kursk Energy Management Company», OJSC «Kursk Transmission Grid» were registered.

Since March 31, 2008 Kurskenergo has been a part of the unified operating company IDGC of Centre, JSC in the status of a branch.

The high reputation of the company has been repeatedly recognized by awards at various levels. In 2007 the division received the Certificate of the National rating agency of assignment of «Kurskenergo» credit rating A+ (high credit solvency, the third level). In 2009 Kurskenergo won the regional competition «Taking care of people» in the category «Social benefits for employees». In 2010, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division became a prize winner of the competition of innovative projects, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Kursk region. In the Kursk House of Journalists among the first companies in the region a solemn awarding of the «Certificate of confidence to the employer» to Kurskenergo was held, certifying that the company has been entered in the register of employers, who guarantee to respect the rights of employees. In 2011, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division was awarded a diploma of the Administration of the Kursk region for high organization of work in the field of civil defense and protection of the population in emergency situations. In 2012, following the results of the Twelfth Interregional Universal Wholesale-Retail Kursk Korensk Fair, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division was awarded a diploma for the implementation of innovative technologies and scientific developments. Kurskenergo is a prize winner of the Governor of the Kursk region in quality in 2012.
