Power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region are preparing for a flood season

16 March 2026

Branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region have completed a series of measures to prepare for the spring flood. This work was carried out to ensure reliable power supply to consumers and the safety of power grid equipment in flood-prone areas.

To quickly respond to potential flooding, 3,066 crews with a total of 26,163 employees, as well as 12,168 specialized vehicles and 106 water-borne vessels with a capacity of 368 people, are on standby.

In case of technological disruptions, 2,311 backup power sources with a total capacity of almost 90 MW have been prepared to supply socially important facilities.

The branches have organized additional monitoring of the condition of substations and power lines located in flood-prone areas, checked the equipment’s operability, and updated the power supply schemes for socially significant infrastructure facilities.

To promptly receive information on predicted water levels, flood timing, and potential risks, the power engineers are cooperating with the territorial divisions of Roshydromet, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, and regional executive authorities.
