Belgorodenergo’s anniversary: 65 years serving the region

1 October 2026

The Belgorod power system took shape shortly after the region was established. On 1 October 1961, the Regional Energy Administration “Belgorodenergo” was created, comprising the Belgorod CHP plant (30 MW capacity), the Gubkin CHP plant (61 MW capacity), electrical repair workshops, and a high-voltage grid enterprise. At that time, the administration managed seven 110 kV substations with a total installed capacity of 195 MVA.

Today, Belgorodenergo’s service area encompasses over 180 high-voltage substations and 53,000 km of power lines. The branch actively develops grid infrastructure, commissions new energy facilities and implements modern equipment and intelligent control systems.

The region’s location along the border places a special responsibility on the power engineers. Working under challenging conditions, Belgorodenergo’s specialists restore power supply in areas where operations require heightened safety measures. These professionals begin restoration work immediately following security forces, ensuring that electricity is returned to consumers.

“This milestone is a testament to the resilience, reliability and exceptional professionalism of generations of the Belgorod region’s power engineers. Today, amidst difficult circumstances, the branch’s team continues to supply electricity to cities and villages, support the operation of vital facilities and rapidly restore damaged infrastructure. The safety and daily lives of thousands of people depend on the coordination and speed of these actions. Please, accept my sincere appreciation and gratitude for your dedication to the profession, your courage and your readiness to tackle the most complex challenges requiring resilience and a high level of expertise,” stated Boris Ebzeev, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC — the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, in his congratulatory message.
