Vyacheslav Gladkov and Igor Makovskiy honoured the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War on 9 May

9 May 2022 Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov and General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC Igor Makovskiy laid flowers at the Memorial “Grieving Mother” on the main square of the city of Military Glory of Belgorod on Victory Day and became participants in the procession “Immortal Regiment”.

Together with the head of the region, the head of the energy companies walked at the head of the column, holding a portrait of Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov, the great commander, four times Hero of the Soviet Union.

At the end of the action, Igor Makovskiy and Vyacheslav Gladkov laid flowers at the bust of Marshal of Victory Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov and Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Russia, natives of Belgorod, whose names are immortalized on the regional Alley of Heroes.

On the eve of Victory Day, in a solemn atmosphere at the memorial “In Honour of the Heroes of the Battle of Kursk”, Igor Makovskiy paid tribute to the memory of tank soldiers who died in heavy defensive battles on the Kursk Bulge.

“The Great Patriotic War became a severe test for our people. We are proud of the winners: they saved our country from fascism, protected the lives of future generations, showed an example of unity and love for the motherland, glorifying 9 May 1945 for centuries. No matter how many years have passed and how many more years will pass, this day will forever remain a sacred date for us. A holiday of great joy and sorrow, selfless gratitude to the living and blessed memory of the fallen,” Igor Makovskiy emphasized.

“Today we are celebrating the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory, which our country needed so much and got at such a high price. We bow our heads to the memory of the heroes who died defending us from fascism, we thank the living veterans, we pay tribute to the home front workers. Our duty today is to preserve the memory of those great days, to protect and pass on to children and grandchildren the historical truth about the valiant past of our Motherland,” said Vyacheslav Gladkov.
