Specialists of branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region continue systematic work on prevention of children’s electrical injuries. In anticipation of the new school year the power engineers have implemented a set of measures in regions of the companies’ service area (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) to ensure electrical safety near educational and preschool institutions.
At all power facilities located in and near schools and kindergartens, special checks were carried out for the safety of fences, locks, warning signs about the danger of electric shock.
Work to eliminate defects of poles, wires and other electrical equipment was performed. Electric shock warning signs were updated.
Scheduled work was conducted to transfer overhead lines and transformer substations outside of schools, playgrounds, areas with mass housing construction and replace uninsulated conductors of overhead lines with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).
One of the important components of the work on the prevention of electrical injuries among children is lessons on electrical safety. During the summer holidays, the specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region conducted more than 1,200 such thematic classes. The power engineers familiarized the children with the rules of conduct next to power facilities and the rules for using electrical appliances, they taught to move correctly in the area of ground currents, first-aid skills for the victim. With the beginning of the school year, this work will be continued.
