As part of the XIV International Youth Industrial Forum “Engineers of the Future”, specialists from Rosseti Centre, Rosseti Centre and Volga region, and the Tula Training Centre “Energetik” held a team competition “Energy IQ: Intelligence, Safety, Creativity”, for participants in a children’s field shift. The event took place at the health camp “Zvezdny” in the Tula region.
Approximately 240 schoolchildren aged 7 to 17 participated in the shift. The organizers adapted the tasks for each age group: younger students learned about the world of energy through game mechanics, while older students were immersed in real-life engineering practices. The main goal of the shift was to demonstrate that engineering professions can be engaging.
The “Energy IQ” program, developed at the initiative of the Rosseti Group, was held in a team-based format and included two stages: theoretical and practical. The participants solved logic problems, mastered the fundamentals of electrical engineering, learned how to safely handle equipment, and explored solutions to applied engineering cases. The most exciting part of the training was the hands-on activities: in the electrical workshop the students assembled apartment wiring diagrams, in the electrical installation lab they practiced connecting to the power infrastructure, and during an engineering challenge they tested asynchronous motor wiring diagrams.
By the end of the competition, all participants not only honed their teamwork skills but also gained basic knowledge that will be useful in their future career choices.
The International Youth Industrial Forum “Engineers of the Future” is organized by the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia and annually brings together students, young professionals, and representatives of major industrial enterprises. Rosseti’s participation in the forum is part of a long-term strategy to develop a talent pool and promote engineering professions among the younger generation.
