Igor Makovskiy spoke at the REW about the practice and prospects for using electricity storage systems

12 October 2023 During the Russian Energy Week, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC Igor Makovskiy spoke at the panel discussion “Energy without borders. Storage systems: regulation, technologies and prospects”.

The head of the energy company noted that a total of 38 storage devices are already in use in the territory where the Company operates. One of the modifications of the system is designed to ensure reliability of power supply, the other is connected to the grid to maintain the quality of electricity.

Innovative storage systems are equipped with modern remote control and communication equipment, which ensures the transmission of data on the presence or absence of voltage in the grid, battery charge level and other operating parameters to the Grid Control Centres of the Company’s branches. For operational control, remote control of switching the devices on and off is implemented.

“Today, unique opportunities are emerging for the development of domestic technologies, and we are proud to be directly involved in this process: we continue research and development work jointly with Russian development companies, carry out implementations in the power grid complex, and expand areas of application. The potential for innovation in the energy sector is enormous, so we will continue to actively move along this path for the benefit of residents and the regions of our operational responsibility,” noted Igor Makovskiy.
