Power engineers of Rosseti Centre completely restored power supply in the Kursk region

13 May 2022 12 May, on the territory of the Kursk region as a result of a storm uncharacteristic in strength for the region - thunderstorms with the strongest squally wind reaching 26 m/s in places, and heavy rains with hail - the Kursky, Fatezhsky, Zheleznogorsky, Khomutovsky, Zolotukhinsky, Rylsky and Dmitrievsky districts of the region experienced power outages.

60 power lines and 448 transformer substations were de-energized, supplying 246 settlements with a population of more than 17.5 thousand people.

Employees of Kurskenergo were mobilized in advance and provided with all the necessary forces and means to eliminate technological violations. By decision of the Headquarters, a special mode of operation was introduced in the branch, and temporary information centres for work with the population were deployed.

The power engineers conducted emergency recovery work continuously, all night. First of all, socially significant institutions and communal infrastructure facilities were powered. 
In total, 58 emergency recovery crews, including 253 people and 62 vehicles, were involved in the elimination of the consequences of failures in the Kursk region.

Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, thanked the Kursk power engineers for their selfless work and emphasized: “The bad weather challenged the power grid complex, with which the company’s specialists coped with dignity, having completed the tasks assigned to them on emergency recovery measures in a short time. The high responsibility that rests on the shoulders of the power engineers requires their professionalism, discipline and experience. It is these qualities that are the key to the successful operation of the industry and reliable power supply to the inhabitants of the region”.
