30 November 2021

Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, held a meeting of the headquarters on the readiness of 20 regions of the Company’s presence to work in adverse weather conditions.

At the moment, the high alert mode operates on the territory of 17 branches due to a powerful cyclone accompanied by rain, strong winds up to 25 metres per second and temperature transition through zero. In addition, Orelenergo, Ryazanenergo and Tulenergo have been transferred to a special operating mode. The power engineers were mobilized in advance and promptly respond to local power failures. General Director instructed the heads of the branches to constantly monitor the meteorological and operational situation, to strengthen interaction with the regional Main Directorates of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and municipal authorities, to suspend planned work to transfer additional forces to the emergency recovery sites, and also to use backup power sources for power supply, primarily, to socially significant facilities.

Please, be reminded that operational actions to eliminate emergencies at the facilities of the power grid complex are systematically practiced within the framework of regular trainings. The day before, four-day interregional exercises ended in the Tver region. The scenario of the exercises assumed the development of massive technological violations, to eliminate which, in addition to the forces and assets of Tverenergo, by the decision of the head of the energy companies, crews and backup power supplies from other branches of the company were involved. As part of the current high alert mode, 20 mobile crews will be deployed to help Tulenergo.

“Measures for planned preparation for emergency situations, well-established logistics and information exchange, as well as constant interaction with the regional authorities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and municipalities allow the power engineers to quickly mobilize all forces and resources in areas affected by bad weather and respond in a timely manner to technological disruptions to prevent mass outages of consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
