Igor Makovskiy: we are making every effort to respond in a timely manner to any incidents in the border areas

4 April 2022

Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, held an operational meeting, at which he paid close attention to the development of the tasks formulated at the meeting of the Headquarters dated 1 April 2022 to ensure the reliability of the electric grid complex of border areas of electric grids in the Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh regions in the context of more frequent adverse incidents. As a reminder, the Belgorodenergo, Bryanskenergo, Voronezhenergo and Kurskenergo branches have been put on high alert.

As part of the operational meeting, the directors of the branches and chiefs of Distribution Zones reported to the head of the company on the implementation of organizational and engineering measures to maintain the stable operation of the energy grid complex against the backdrop of negative incidents that have become more frequent in the border area and became the reason for an emergency meeting of the Headquarters. The head of the company was informed about the close cooperation with the regional Headquarters to ensure the security of energy supply, as well as the territorial divisions of the Federal Security Service of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

Igor Makovskiy listened to reports on additional measures to ensure the sustainable operation of facilities and the safety of employees in the border area. Particular attention was paid to instructions on transferring some administrative employees located less than 15 kilometres from the border to a remote work mode, creating fuel reserves, equipping special fuel and lubricant storage sites in the regions, and restricting access roads to our critical infrastructure facilities near the border.

The need for additional explanatory work and briefings with the Distribution Zones’ personnel on compliance with security measures when performing actions in the border area against the backdrop of non-standard incidents was especially noted.

“In the conditions of heightened tension and more frequent adverse incidents, it is important to focus not only on taking specific measures to ensure the safety of the operation of the power grid complex and labour protection of employees, but also on the morale and mood of the staff. Each employee must clearly understand that we, thanks to his actions, are making every effort to timely respond to incidents in the border areas of electrical grids,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
