Kostromaenergo’s employees pass Ready for Labour and Defense standards

Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” have begun to pass the standards of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labour and Defense”. Its first stage was held at the Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 5 in the city of Kostroma and included 8 disciplines for men and women: long and short distance running, long jump, inclines, press, pull-ups, push-ups and throwing. The correctness of the assignments was assessed by professional judges of the Ready for Labour and Defense testing centre - teachers of the Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 5.

It was decided to pass the Ready for Labour and Defense standards in the Kostromaenergo branch on the Day of the Athlete; it was initiated by the trade union committee of the enterprise. A part of the complex standards was included in the Ready for Labour and Defense program. In the near future, the power engineers will be able to complete the “Spartakiad” standards for swimming at 50 metres and shooting from electronic weapons. The results of the power engineers will be posted on the official Ready for Labour and Defense website, after studying them, the Ready for Labour and Defense central commission will decide on awarding them with distinctions.

“Employees of Kostromaenergo, with the support of the trade union organization, have the opportunity to engage in various sports throughout the year: running, swimming, volleyball, football, tennis and much more. It is important for us that in their free time they keep themselves in good physical shape, and most importantly, to take care of their health,” says Pavel Petukhov, chairman of the trade union organization of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”. “When passing the Ready for Labour and Defense standards, the guys can really see what they have achieved for a year. It is very motivating.”
