Branch “Rosseti Centre Yarenergo” launched a summer distance course on electrical safety

22.06.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Yarenergo” has launched a summer distance course on electrical safety for children and adults. The first online lesson was held on the Zoom platform for 73 schoolchildren of the “Coddy” programming school, which works during the holidays at the Museum of Entertaining Sciences in Yaroslavl.

The conference was open, so everyone could join using the identifier and password said in the announcements earlier. In the video format, the Yaroslavl power engineers reminded the children of the rules of conduct near power lines, substations and transformer stations, introduced them to hazard warning signs and posters. At a special simulator “Gosha” they showed how to save a person who suffered from electric current. The engineers made special emphasis for the audience of young programmers on safety in everyday life. Many teenage boys already try out as inventors of electronics. The power engineers told them with what insulation it is better to use a hand tool and how to do it safely.

The employees of the Einstein Museum conducted interesting experiments for the participants of the online conference and experiments with electricity using special safe equipment. Dr. Volt showed the children how static electricity can change their hair, as well as the tricks of taming lightning and collecting electric charge in a glass flask.

At the end of the online meeting, the future programmers received a creative assignment on electrical safety. Together with teachers, they will have to develop computer games, quests, quizzes, with the help of which it will be possible to improve their knowledge on the safe handling of electricity. A new meeting to determine the winners is scheduled for August.

Yarenergo’s specialists will continue a new distance project during the summer holidays. “Practice shows that this format of educational classes is effective and convenient. It allows to reach a maximum audience, regardless of place of residence. We intend to expand its use. The next conference will be organized for professionals working with troubled teenagers in the Yaroslavl region,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
