Smolenskenergo’s specialists to conduct 89 electrical safety lessons in educational institutions of the Smolensk region in 2020

10.02.2020

Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” plan to conduct 89 electrical safety lessons in schools, boarding schools, summer recreation camps, as well as in libraries and kindergartens of the Smolensk region during 2020.

Work on the prevention of electrical injuries to third parties in the branch is ongoing: with various categories of the population, explanatory work is being carried out on the need to comply with electrical safety rules. Particular attention is paid to the prevention of children’s injuries. In March, power engineers will hold a “Children’s Electrical Safety Month”, aimed at strengthening preventive work in anticipation of the spring school holidays. During this period, a number of activities for children are planned. The target audience is schoolchildren in grades 1-7, because it is precisely at the age of 7-13 years that children most often become victims of their own negligence. Specialists together with school teachers in an interesting and accessible form will tell children how to behave near power facilities, handle electrical appliances, where to call in case of emergency. Developing games and contests for knowledge of electrical safety rules will help consolidate the studied stuff.

In addition, regional media and authorities have been involved in information work. In March, thematic audio clips will be broadcast daily on radio stations, and information on preventing children’s electrical injuries and rules of conduct near power facilities will be published in the print and electronic media and on websites of municipalities of the region.

The branch’s specialists are also ready to conduct electrical safety lessons in educational institutions of the Smolensk region over and above the plan. To organize a lesson, it is enough to contact the department of public relations of the branch by phone 8 (4812) 42-95-62. Lessons are free and only on weekdays.
