IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division summed up the results of the electricity supply from the grid. In 2016, it increased by 80.3 million kWh, or by 2.42% compared to 2015, amounting to 3,392.6 million kWh. According to the data of the branch’s services sales department, the increase in electricity consumption during the reporting period was observed for all voltage levels and categories of consumers, except for budget consumers and railway transport.
The decrease in electricity losses in grids with the transmission of electricity in relative terms was 0.18%. As part of the work to reduce electric energy losses, the power company carried out inspections and raids to curb non-metered electricity consumption. Non-metered and non-contractual energy consumption is one of the risk factors for power supply interruption, as unauthorized connection reduces the voltage in the grid and degrades the quality of electricity in all parameters. Theft of electricity leads to losses of consumers – owners, who use electricity legally, are forced to pay for stolen electricity. Do not forget about the fact that punishment for unlawful actions is inevitable.
