IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division organized voluntary Saturday work to improve the "Alley of Power Engineers" on Krivenkov street in the city of Lipetsk. The maple alley was planted by the power company in April 2012 as part of the environmental program "Distribution grid complex - for environmental protection". For 4 years the young maple seedlings grew and became strong, pleasing residents of the neighbourhood for their greenery.
The campaign found a wide response among the public. Representatives of regional authorities, the Office of Energy and Tariffs in the Lipetsk region and residents of the quarter joined the power engineers to improve the city with pleasure.
During the work day on the territory of the alley another 50 maple trees and 30 new shrubs were planted, the growing trees were dug around and watered, pedestrian curbs were painted.
The organization of such voluntary Saturday work has long been a tradition at "Lipetskenergo". The Company believes that such events unite the team and strengthen the corporate spirit. For 6 years the power engineers planted in the region more than 7 thousand seedlings of trees and shrubs. And always their initiative is supported by representatives of the authorities, the business community, the clergy, public organizations and residents of the region. This shows the unity of the public and the authorities in addressing social issues, one of which is the improvement of streets and courtyards, their landscaping.
