1,500 Smolensk schoolchildren during the summer holidays repeated electrical safety rules

12.09.2016

Staff of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division for June-August 2016 conducted 16 planned sessions on electrical safety and 4 classes beyond the plan. The events were attended by more than a thousand schoolchildren, resting in country summer holiday camps or in schoolyards between the ages of 7 to 15.

During the summer Smolenskenergo’s experts visited the summer camps near Smolensk ("Change", "Salyut", "Young Leninist", "Falcon Mountain"), and held classes in the "Social and health Centre "Goloevka" in Roslavlsky district, in the summer camps "Prudok" (Shumyachsky district), "Eaglet" and "Borok" (Smolensky district), the medical-health centre "Swallow" in Dorogobuzhsky district and in several schoolyards of the region.

Electrical safety classes are held in the framework of a comprehensive program of prevention of electric injuries, implemented in the branches of IDGC of Centre. During the classes young and middle schoolchildren study and repeat the basic rules of safe handling of electrical household appliances and behaviour near power grid facilities.

During the sessions the children answered questions related to the safe rules of electricity handling at home and in the street. For making stands on electrical safety in the camp buildings colourful posters were given to the staff with a reminder on the basic rules of behaviour near power facilities.

With the beginning of the new school year the work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries will continue in schools of the region. 12 electrical safety lessons are planned for September.
