12.09.2016

Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division has begun the first phase of reconstruction of one of the key supply centres of the city - the 110/6 kV substation "Railway Station". The substation provides electricity to the Central and North-Western part of the city of Lipetsk. Quality of power supply to consumers of micro-district 9 of Lipetsk depends on its operation, including such socially significant customers as two boilers in Gagarin and Moscow streets, the Central Clinical Hospital, the Palace of Sports "Star" and the railway station.

The substation "Railway Station" was put into operation in 1970. Last time the 110 kV outdoor switchgear of the feeding centre was reconstructed in 1983. In 2002 isolating and short-circuiting switches were replaced, two gas-insulated 110 kV circuit breakers were installed. Since then, the 110 kV electrical equipment has not been upgraded and is now in need of renovation.

Work on the modernization of the substation is performed in stages to avoid interruptions in the power supply of consumers.

In the first phase of reconstruction the power company is replacing a 20 MVA power transformer with a 40 MVA transformer, and it is performing work on utility devices and control current in the substation, installation of lightning protection and grounding devices. After the installation and commissioning of relay protection and emergency control this equipment will be put into operation.

In the next stage, in 2017, it will replace two transformers of 20 and 25 MVA transformer with 40 MVA. In addition, the power centre will be equipped with a system of technical security and safety equipment and outdoor lighting.

All work on the reconstruction of the substation will be completed by the end of 2017. The total funds invested in the project will amount to more than 260 million rubles.
