IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division took part in the Safety Day, organized by the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Orel region in the Children Park of Orel. The event, timed to coincide with the beginning of the new school year, gathered more than a thousand children, parents and teachers.
Orelenergo within the Safety Day organized an exhibition, which presented equipment, uniform and electrical protection means. Everyone could try on clothes of an electrician and sit behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle TREKOL, which is used to locate faults on power lines being in hard to reach terrain. Besides, the power engineers together with rescuers carried out a quiz and a drawing competition on the asphalt on the theme "Safe electricity", winner of which received the opportunity to ride an electric vehicle of the branch.
This action is just one of the activities of a large-scale information campaign on electrical safety of Orelenergo. Much work in this area was done in the summer by the power company. In particular, they held more than 20 lessons in children’s summer camps for prevention of children’s electric injuries. From the beginning of the school year this work will be continued. Already in September experts of the occupational health service of Orelenergo will hold at least 10 classes in schools of the Orel region.
