Igor Makovskiy and Svetlana Khorkina launched the events of the Year of Physical Culture and Sports of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region

22 February 2024 The second day on the sidelines of the XI Professional Board of Rosseti Centre, PJSC and Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC in Lipetsk was devoted to fulfilling the standards of the “Ready for Labour and Defense” complex. Sports tests took place within the framework of the “Year of Physical Culture and Sports” announced at the energy company.

General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC Igor Makovskiy and Russian gymnast, two-time Olympic champion, 9-time world champion, Honoured Master of Sports of Russia Svetlana Khorkina solemnly opened the first event of the thematic year.

On this day, in the athletics arena of the Molodezhny sports complex, more than 200 employees passed the GTO standards in shooting, running, snatching a 16-kilogram weight, long jump, push-ups and abdominal exercises.

“Sports competitions and trials are a good, proven incentive for the development of mass sports. Organizing the passing of GTO standards in the companies “Rosseti Centre” and “Rosseti Centre and Volga region” is an excellent initiative, because thanks to the GTO complex, more than one generation of active and healthy people has grown up. Such an event, held at a very high level, motivates people to engage in physical exercises, choose active leisure and, most importantly, ultimately a healthy lifestyle”, noted Svetlana Khorkina.

“We support our employees in their desire to play sports and lead a healthy lifestyle, which is why 2024 has been declared by the company as the “Year of Physical Culture and Sports”. Throughout the year, power engineers and their families will participate in mass sports intra-corporate and inter-industry events. It is these forms of leisure that help the team unite, feel like a team with common goals and interests. This certainly helps in our daily activities, which also require teamwork. I sincerely congratulate all participants in today’s tests and wish them new sporting victories!” said Igor Makovskiy.
