General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC Igor Makovskiy held a meeting of the Operational Headquarters on ensuring reliable and stable operation of the electric grid complex in adverse weather conditions - rain with thunderstorms, hail, sleet, wind with gusts of up to 25 m/s.
The territories of the Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Orel, Tambov, Ryazan and Nizhny Novgorod regions were most severely affected by the cyclone. It is predicted that adverse weather conditions will continue in 15 branches of the company throughout the upcoming May holidays.
Power engineers exercise enhanced control over power grid facilities. In all branches of regions with increased risks of exposure to adverse weather conditions, round-the-clock duty of employees and managers has been organized. 8,049 specialists consisting of 2,041 crews and 3,525 motor and special vehicles are ready to quickly respond to emergency situations. For temporary power supply to consumers, if necessary, 2,449 backup power supply sources with a total capacity of 110.5 MW have been prepared for use. Interaction with authorities, departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and regional Headquarters has been organized on an ongoing basis, and the Contact Centre has been put into enhanced mode.
“The power engineers monitor the operational situation in the regions where the company operates around the clock. We are ready to minimize consequences of abnormal adverse weather events in the shortest possible time where they occur. During these days, special attention will be paid to the power supply for events of national importance, social infrastructure and recreational areas for citizens. The power engineers will do everything possible to fulfill their main duty - to provide consumers with electricity. We have all the necessary forces and means for this,” Igor Makovskiy stressed.
